What is a CBD massage?
A massage medium such as gel, cream, lotion, or oil infused with hemp-derived CBD is used to enhance the experience and benefits of massage therapy. After the therapist determines your needs, they may use the infused topical as a full body treatment or on a specific body area.
How much does it cost?
Like the price of massages, the CBD enhancement will vary as well. Depending on the center or therapist, they may offer treatments already infused with CBD or they may offer it as an upgrade similar to aromatherapy or hot stones. Some therapists use CBD packaged into individual servings and will let you keep the unused portion while others may offer a full-size product you can bring to future sessions. If this is an option, you may save money if you plan on using the infused topical repeatedly.

Will a CBD massage get me high?
Hemp-derived CBD must contain less than 0.3% THC, the compound responsible for the psychoactive effects associated with the cannabis plant. A CBD massage will not make you feel high or intoxicated in any way. It may make you feel extremely relaxed! If you’re a therapist, you should ease into providing multiple CBD massages per day or wear gloves until you know your tolerance for CBD intake which you’ll be absorbing through your hands every time you apply infused topicals.
Is a CBD massage safe and legal?

Will a CBD massage make me fail a drug test?
Infused topicals used in massage penetrate the skin and muscles without entering the bloodstream so a CBD massage should not produce a positive work-related drug test. This is especially true if the massage products are made with CBD from isolate or THC free distillate. However, even if a full-spectrum extract was used and there was open skin for the topical to enter the bloodstream, it’s highly unlikely the amount would trigger a positive test as shown in this 2017 study.
